Following an internal recruitment process, the Professional Services Department are delighted to announce three new appointments to the University. Each day, from Wednesday 20 July – Friday 22 July, we will introduce one of the newly appointed staff, beginning with Charlene Allen.
Charlene was appointed interim Director of Student Recruitment and International Relations as of 1 July 2016, following Jo Doyle’s retirement at the end of July 2016, after 28 years of service to the University.
Charlene has worked in International Offices for 17 years focusing primarily on recruitment, partnerships and marketing and supporting the PVC International to deliver the University’s internationalisation strategy. Charlene worked for the University from 2005 – 2010, before returning in 2014 to take on the role of Director of International Student Recruitment.
Charlene said:
“The international work of universities in the UK has become a key focus for many University strategies, whilst the UK market has seen a shift due to education reform and government support, making the environment complex and competitive. Recruitment and partnerships are integral to the sustainability of the University and I would like to thank colleagues from around the University for working together with the department to deliver these activities. I look forward to continuing to work closely with them to make a significant contribution to the University’s strategy, focusing on building national and international reputation to attract quality students and partners.”
