The University’s International Business Project will be continuing in 2016/17.
In a rapidly changing world, this project is helping to improve the way the University conducts its international operations and is developing tools to support staff who travel and work overseas on behalf of the University.
Over the last year, the project has focused on improving the University’s existing activities, looking at areas as diverse as health and safety, visas, procurement, insurance, staff recruitment and quality assurance.
The project team have helped colleagues from across the University with questions about working or operating overseas, and PwC have been providing specialist advice in relation to personal and corporation tax.
Staff have shared their views and experiences through a survey, a regular working group and a series of workshops, with President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Christopher Snowden having expressed why he believes this work is so important.
In 2016/17, the focus will shift to designing new ways of working that will be more sustainable in the future, whilst at the same time ensuring that the needs of the University are met and that colleagues find the new methods as simple as possible to use.
