On 1 October 2016 the new Investment Builder section of USS will be launched. The Investment Builder is a Defined Contribution (DC) pension savings provision available to all USS members (those earning over the salary threshold of £55,000 a year (2016/17) will join automatically).
The Investment Builder will provide members with the flexibility to enhance their DC retirement savings as they’ll be able to make their own contribution and investment choices.
USS is also introducing a new Voluntary Salary Cap (VSC) from October. The VSC is designed to assist members in managing their tax affairs, particularly in relation to the Annual Allowance.
If you are a USS member you should already have received a booklet with details of these changes. The University is hosting a member presentations on behalf of the USS if you would like further information. The presentations will be given by Mercer, global investment consultants, on behalf of USS.
Members are invited to attend either of the below sessions. You don’t have to book, please just turn up.
- 31 August – Room 3001, Building 34, Highfield, from 10.30 to 12.00 and from 14:00 to 15:30
