Multiple nominations for Careers and Employability in AGCAS Awards for Excellence

Hot on the heels of their Vice-Chancellor’s award, the University’s Careers and Employability team have been nominated in three out of the eight available categories in the 2016 Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) Awards for Excellence, the only University to be nominated in multiple categories.

Service Awards shortlists:

1. AGCAS Award for Academic Engagement

University of Southampton – Partnership with Grosvenor and the School of Geography
University of Hull – Curriculum reform and academic employability training
University of Reading – Thrive Career Mentoring Scheme

2. AGCAS Award for Employability

University of Southampton – Business Innovation Programme

Newcastle University – Triple E Challenge
University of Greenwich – New employability approach for BAME students

6. AGCAS Award for Partnership with Professional Services

University of Southampton – Partnership with Enabling Services

Durham University – Durham International Student Employability Programme
Queen’s University Belfast – Partnership with Development and Alumni Relations
University of Birmingham – Partnership with Development and Alumni Relations

Being a finalist in two out of three of these categories has been achieved in partnership with colleagues in the School of Geography and also Enabling Services which perfectly demonstrates the University’s principle of ‘Collegiality’.

Additionally, the ‘Employability’ Award is in line with our principle of ‘Quality’ and our strategic goal to ‘Improve Student Employability’.  There are eight Awards categories and University of Southampton is the only institution nationally to achieve finalist status in more than one of these.
