About The Girls’ Network:

The Girls’ Network is an award-winning national charity, working with nearly 1000 girls across the country.  We work with 14-19 year old girls from the least advantaged communities by matching them 1:1 with a professional female mentor for a year, and a network of professional female contacts for life. We aim to open up opportunities, build skills and confidence and unleash their potential for a successful future. Attached is our one-pager with more information, and our Child Protection Policy.

What does mentoring involve?

Mentoring involves at least ten hour-long 1:1 sessions with a teenage girl, over one academic year. There is a programme specification with many resources to support you, but we also encourage you to make your sessions bespoke to your mentee in order to help her reach her potential for a successful future.

To start the process of becoming a mentor please click here, this takes you to our online application form.

You must have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate with child workforce checks within the last two years to mentor. If you indicate in the application form that you do not have a current DBS, we will contact you with instructions on how to apply. There will be a one off processing fee of £10.

Supporting us in other ways:

If you are interested in being involved in The Girls’ Network in another capacity, for example: fundraising, providing workshops/events, providing sponsorship/donations, please email us with your details, and we will be in contact.

Successful applicants will receive a link to sign up to training at the University from 17:30  – 20:30 on 8 September 2016. There will be a matching opportunity in the autumn with Cantell School.

We forward to having you on board, mentoring for The Girls’ Network.
