All five fifteen-seater vans have full disabled access, roof racks and have been selected for their low carbon emissions.

The brand new blue Ford Transit vans will be used to deliver students home safely following student nights and library visits as part of the Union’s established Safety Bus scheme. Student groups, including sports clubs and societies, will also be able to hire the buses for trips and fixtures.

The Union’s President, Alex Hovden says:

“The new buses are fantastic. They are fresh, reliable, and really very comfortable to ride in, which will not only enable our student groups to get around the country, but will also provide a safe, cheap way for our students to get home after a night out. I can’t wait to see them out and about supporting our students over the course of the year!”

Students can access the Safety Bus service from the University’s Highfield Campus Redbrick area, outside the Union building (Building 42) for just £1.50 for journeys within a 3-mile radius. Students will need their student ID cards to board.
