Helping to underpin the University’s core principles of internationalisation and collegiality, there will be two free events for staff (including PGR students) taking place in September. On Monday 19 September from 10:00 – 13:00, a seminar on working interculturally will be held in room 2207, Building 85.
During this seminar, results of the Staff Survey will be presented and discussed, specifically in relation to the international and intercultural aspects of working at the University. The seminar aims to generate constructive ideas on how the experience of intercultural working can be improved.
Spaces for this seminar are limited to 40 people, so please register your place by Wednesday 14 September to avoid disappointment.
On Wednesday 21 September from 14:00 – 16:00, the International Staff Café will launch in the Nuffield Kitchen.
In collaboration with Julie Reeves from the Institute for Learning Innovation and Development (ILIaD), colleagues from the Intercultural Connections Southampton project (ICS) will be opening the international staff café to all staff, wherever you’re from, however long you’ve been at the University and whatever your role is here.
ICS aims to hold cafes across all the University’s campuses and will discuss this at the launch event. In addition, there will also be informal talks from Keith Johnstone (the new Director of International Relations and Development) and Aline Giordano (Doctoral College Manager).
This event will provide staff from across the University with an excellent opportunity to come together and interact.
You do not have to stay for the entirety of this event in order to attend. Please click here to register your place by Friday 16 September.
