Dr Edwards, Head of Respiratory Data Sciences Group at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will be providing a research update on the projects the group are working on.
Dr Holbrook, Professor of Bioinformatics at Southampton and Senior Principal Investigator at the Singapore Institute of Clinical Sciences, will be discussing her research project: ‘Correcting the epigenetic consequence of personal genetic and environmental risk’.
All are welcome to attend the session (registration is not required), which will take place on Wednesday 7 September from 16:00 – 17:30, Room 4025 in Building 53, Highfield Campus.
Initiated in November 2013, the Bioinformatics journal club promotes informal interactions between people with an enthusiasm for bioinformatics (a scientific discipline that uses computers and computational algorithms to explore biological processes) and aims to foster collaborations across the University. Each session features a critical review of a novel paper which involves the subject of bioinformatics.
Sessions are held on every last Wednesday of the month, with locations alternating between Southampton General Hospital and Highfield Campus.
