Distinguished lecture with President Emeritus of New York University, John Sexton

John Sexton will be presenting his lecture on the future of higher education in a global society on Monday 3 October from 17:30 – 18:30 in Building 67 (Nightingale), Room 1027, Highfield Campus.

John Sexton served as President of New York University (NYU) from 2002 – 2015. During his presidency, the University’s reach and stature grew tremendously, including the emergence of NYU as a global network university, with campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai and 11 international academic centers.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, President Emeritus Sexton also serves on the board of the Institute of International Education and is past Chair of the American Council on Education.

The university is one of the world’s most enduring institutions, and the modern research university is its most sophisticated presentation.  However, globalization, technology and market forces are reshaping the form and function of the research university.
