However, there are some easy steps we can all take to help reduce postal costs:
The simplest way of saving money is sending mail 2nd class – typically delivered within 2-3 working days (including Saturdays) 2nd class post is 25% cheaper than 1st class.
Interestingly, using a smaller sized envelope (A5 sized) can save up to 40% – so remember ‘Small and heavy’ is cheaper than ‘light and large’
Our final tip is that typing the address (on a franked letter) will save 2p on each 2nd class item and 3p on 1st class items.
