Invitation to a sustainable lunch with distinguished lecturers

In conjunction with the City of Southampton’s inaugural Sustainability Week, the University’s Environmental Science Society (EnvSoc) is hosting its first event of the academic year for students and the wider community.

Date: Saturday 1 October.

Time: 12:00 – 16:00.

Location: Highfield Church Centre, Highfield Lane, Southampton (2 minute walk from Highfield Campus).

The event will begin with a lunch featuring produce from the local Sunnyfields Farm and Brighton’s Infinity Foods made by the EnvSoc committee. There will also be live music, short-films and stalls from local organisations.

The lunch will be followed by a series of short talks including an introduction by Professor Mary Edwards on ‘Global Environmental Change’ and a lecture by Professor Ian Williams on ‘Our Global Food Waste Challenge’, with time for breaks and scrumptious homemade desserts.
