Alumnus Ed Clarke will be providing each of this year’s new Acoustical Engineering students with a free core textbook from their course reading list.
“I’m keen to support the Acoustical Engineering course at ISVR,” commented Mr Clarke, Technical Director of Clarke Saunders Associates. “I’m grateful for what it did for me and hopeful for what it can do now for the next generation of acousticians.”
Ed, who graduated from the University in 1992 with an MEng degree in Engineering Acoustics and Vibration, purchased 18 copies of the core textbook Foundation of Engineering Acoustics by Frank Fahy (Emeritus Professor of Engineering Acoustics).
The textbooks will be presented to the students on 7 October, following the final of this year’s Scrapyard Orchestra. The annual event sees new Acoustical Engineering students given the challenge of creating musical instruments from scrap materials before they begin their lecture courses.
