The University has held its position amongst the top 20 UK universities in the annual aggregation of UK league tables published by the Times Higher Education.
Southampton is 17th in the 2017 Table of Tables which combines the results of the UK’s three main domestic university rankings – The Complete University Guide, The Guardian University Guide and The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide.
Amongst Russell Group universities, Southampton is ranked 11th in the table which is once again, headed by Cambridge and Oxford at 1st and 2nd respectively.
The Times Higher’s Table of Tables consolidates a year in which Southampton placed 17th in the Complete University Guide, 16th in The Guardian University Guide and 21st in the Good University Guide.
In the latest global league tables, the University maintained its top 100 status in the 2016/17 QS World Rankings, placing 87th overall and 17th amongst UK universities listed. Southampton is ranked 121st in the world and 16th amongst UK universities listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2016/17.
