Research Professional is an online database of research funding opportunities which the University is subscribed to. It offers researchers the opportunity to search for funding in all disciplines, from a wide range of sponsors in the UK and overseas.
The database of thousands of funding opportunities is available to all members of the University, and you can browse and filter the opportunities, create customised searches, and share funding opportunities with colleagues.
A representative from Research Professional will be visiting the University on Wednesday 26 October to run training sessions on how to get the best out of Research Professional. The 1 hour training session will:
- Introduce the Research Professional platform
- Demonstrate how to locate research funding opportunities which match your interests
- Show you how to set up email alerts to keep you informed of the latest opportunities
There will be three training sessions over the course of the day based at three of the University’s campuses:
- 09:30–10:30 Highfield Campus 37/4049 (Senate Room) – Physical and Natural Sciences Session (FEE, FNES and FPSE). Click here to book your ticket.

Whilst each session will be tailored towards a set of disciplines and Faculties, please note that the overall approach will be the same and is translatable, so individuals should feel free to attend whichever session is most convenient.
This visit is organised by Research and Innovation Services (RIS). If you have any questions or queries, please contact Rebecca Aldus via email: [email protected].
