Feedback from our students is key to helping the University improve the education and services it provides.
The University is delighted to let you know about a recent example of responding to student feedback at Winchester School of Art.
Last year, students studying at Winchester asked Union Southampton if they could have a microwave. The Sabbatical Officers took the request seriously and approached the University’s catering team. The Officers worked hard to explain why students needed a microwave and, as a result, not just one but two microwaves have now been installed in the Winchester Cafe.
Nicky Passmore, Director of Student Experience explained what happened:
“I’m really pleased we’ve been able to respond to students’ feedback about Winchester campus. The Sabbatical Officers put together a report that allowed the catering team to see how valued a microwave would be, and so they acted on it. It’s a great example of the University and the students’ union working together to respond to student feedback.”
Don’t forget that there are other ways you can give feedback on your university experience, including:
- Module Evaluation Questionnaires
- Academic representatives to Student:Staff Liaison Committees Elections have not yet finished, but you will be able to find out who your local reps are on the Union Southampton website from Monday 31 November.
- National Student Survey (NSS)
- Union Southampton’s You Make Change
The University is working to increase opportunities for students to provide feedback, so look out for more information on SUSSED.
