Meliora: International Journal of Student Sustainability Research – call for Student Editors

The University is launching the International Journal of Student Sustainability Research (IJSSR) in early 2017, and is currently looking for students to become Journal Editorial Board Members.

The winner of the competition to name the journal was Duncan Parker, whose submission: ‘Meliora’ – which is Latin meaning ‘for the pursuit of the better’ – provided a fitting description of sustainability research.

The journal will be composed exclusively of student research papers written by undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. The journal editorial board will be formed of student members and supported by an International Academic Advisory Board, University of Southampton Library, and the Students’ Union.

Call for Student Editors

Those who take part will be responsible for peer reviewing research paper submissions (typically final year research projects) to ensure they meet the journal requirements, and liaising with the International Academic Advisory Board. Training will be provided, and consideration will be paid in regards to the main coursework submission and examination periods.

Providing you with an opportunity to add something highly distinctive to your professional profile which could help you to stand out in the graduate world, those interested in applying should send their CV and a one-page covering letter stating why they would be an ideal Editorial Board Member, to Shruti Verma: [email protected] (Student Editor-in-chief) by Sunday 13 November 2016.

Please feel free to contact the above or Professor Simon Kemp: [email protected] (Academic Editor-in-chief) for a discussion about the Journal Editorial Board or potential submission of your final year research project for consideration as a Journal paper.
