This year the lights will be switched-on from the balcony of Building 40. Because of this, we recommend you wear appropriate footwear due to poor conditions, particularly on the grass.

There is also a promise of snow, so make sure you wrap up warmly!

  • Children:

This event is for the staff and students of the University of Southampton. Due to the high number of expected guests, children are not permitted to attend this event.

So that everyone has a chance to enjoy the festive decorations, there will be a separate families day celebration held on 12 December. Click here for further details and to register for the Family Christmas event.

  • Photography:

Please note that the University photographer will be taking photographs at this event for use by the University in print and web publications.
