The Business School is launching a new series of monthly evening seminars featuring a variety of speakers from industry and academia, who will explore today’s current business issues and share unique insight and research findings.
Designed to inspire staff, students and academics to think differently and approach business challenges in new ways, the seminars are free of charge and refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Initial seminar schedule:
30 November: The World’s Bottom Line. Hosted in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), this seminar will explore the role of business in meeting the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
25 January: Innovate or die! Innovation is critical to the sustainability and survival of every organisation, but research shows that most organisations aren’t very good at it. Associate Professor of Innovation, David Baxter, discusses how to foster innovation at your organisation by encouraging a change in attitude and developing a supportive culture. Booking will be available shortly.
28 February: Leadership – what’s the role of strategy? Business strategy and its development is often thought of as a function or activity. But in reality, it’s a leadership tool that every senior manager should be equipped with. Jeff Callander, EMA Consulting Group will demonstrate how setting relevant, customer-focussed strategies is crucial for ensuring employees are engaged and contributing to the achievement of the goals. Booking will be available shortly.
