The GFCC is a network of leaders and organisations from around the world committed to the implementation of competitiveness strategies to drive innovation, productivity and prosperity for their nations, regions and cities. The Council aims to develop the tools to understand and navigate the complex competitiveness landscape.

The Forum will serve as a living think-tank, discussing and promoting ideas on the role of universities as economic drivers and imperatives for competitiveness.

Speaking at the GFCC’s Annual Meeting and Global Innovation Summit in London, University Vice-President (International) Professor Colin Grant said:

We are delighted to be part of the GFCC. It plays perfectly to our strengths as a powerhouse for research at scale and international partnership.

With our success in SetSquared and our commitment to innovation and enterprise, we are well-placed to make a significant contribution to the GFCC.

Other university members include Imperial College, Arizona State University, UNC Chapel Hill, University of Chicago, University of California, San Diego, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Monash University and the University of Sao Paulo.
