A symposium in honour of Professor Michael ‘Mike’ Kelly will be held Friday 20 January 2017 at Europe House, London.

Following a long and distinguished career spanning 30 years as Professor of French at the University, Professor Kelly has recently retired.
Professor Kelly has published widely in the area of French Studies and, more recently, in the field of languages in times of conflict and war. He has also been influential in the area of public policy and languages in Europe and the UK for many years.
In recognition of the range and breadth of Professor Kelly’s achievements, the first part of the symposium will be devoted to the field of French Cultural Studies, while the second half will consider policy-related topics in regards to languages. The day will close with a panel discussion on the topic of Languages post-Brexit.
The symposium will take place from 09:00 – 16:30 on Friday 20 January. Tickets are free and attendees will be provided with lunch and refreshments.
