In November 2016, 3,883 academic and professional services colleagues were invited to provide feedback for the Service Effectiveness Survey, an important part of the UniForum Programme. The target was to receive a response rate of 40 per cent.
Thanks to the time taken by over 1,600 colleagues across the University, we achieved the second highest return of all the participating Russell Group universities, with a response rate of 43 per cent.
These results will combine with the information gathered during the summer about the work carried out by our professional services staff. This will provide us with comparative information about how we resource different activities and services that support our teaching and research activities. The results will also help to identify areas where we are best-in-class, and focus on others where we can be even more effective and efficient.
In January 2017, Directors from Marketing, Student Recruitment, Student Services, Research Administration and Finance will attend Function Workshops with their counterparts from the other participating universities to discuss headline findings.
The University’s Executive Board will receive a full presentation on the benchmarked results in April 2017, after which they will discuss and summarise the key findings.
