2016 began with the announcement of a £4.5m grant from the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), which would help bring the campaign’s fundraising goal of £25m firmly in sight.
- In April, staff and students from around the University took part in the 2016 ABP Half Marathon, raising over £9,500 for the new Centre.
- In November, the building reached its halfway point and a further total of £19m was raised – allowing us to make even further progress towards finding a cure for cancer within the new Centre.
To celebrate the success of the last year, staff and students are invited to watch a new video which showcases just how far we have come this year. The video offers a sneak peek of the building as you’ve never seen it before, as well as the opportunity to hear from some of the people involved with the project, speaking about the impact of immunotherapy.
This campaign and the opportunities the new Centre will bring would not be possible without the support of generous donors, staff, students and alumni.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign. Whether through holding a bake sale, taking on the ABP Half Marathon, dedicating a snowflake or helping to spread the campaign’s messages through social media, every bit of your support has got us to where we are today.
The campaign team cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store for the new Centre, and look forward to sharing all the excitement the new year will bring with their supporters!
