The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) will visit the University from 16 January to 24 February to carry out a data collection exercise relating to its work distributing royalties.
The CLA is responsible for distributing royalties to authors and other copyright owners when educational institutions make copies of their work.
During the data collection, staff are requested to provide bibliographic details, from the publications they are copying, on special labels, which will be left at photocopiers.
The exercise will capture data from copyright publications such as books, journals, magazines, periodicals, legal reports, conference papers or extracts.
The CLA selects Higher Education Institutions at random for this data collection work. This exercise does not include copying done by students.
More details about the data collection will be circulated in early January.
