Doctoral researchers have until Friday 20 January to sign up for this year’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition.
Entries can be completed online here.
Our 3MT competition, which forms part of a wider global initiative, requires entrants to explain their thesis to a non-expert audience in just three minutes, accompanied by one static slide and no additional props or electronic media. The competition is open to all doctoral researchers in their second year of candidature onwards.
Each Faculty will run its own 3MT heat in February/March, with the winner from each heat then going forward to compete in the University Grand Final on Wednesday 17 May. Training and support is available to all entrants.
There are prizes at all stages, and the Grand Final winner will receive £1,000 (to be used in support of their research).
Last year, Nazira Albargothy from the Faculty of Medicine won both the Grand Final Judges’ and People’s Choice Awards, going on to be crowned the UK Three Minute Thesis Champion for 2016. Could you follow in Nazira’s footsteps?
