Pulse: LGBT+ Staff Network is relaunched with a new name

All staff are invited to the relaunch of the University’s LGBT network which is changing its name to UoS Pulse LGBT+ Staff Network.

The rainbow flag, commonly the gay pride flag and also a recognised symbol of diversity

The event takes place on the 2 February from 17:30 to 19:00, Building 28, Room 1019, Highfield Campus.

The relaunch evening is an opportunity to understand the vision for the Network, hear personal experiences of members and discuss ways to take the group forward together.

Pulse Network Chair, Andy Cast highlights how important it is that anyone can attend Network events:

It’s a powerful message to anti-LGBT folk that ‘straight allies’ exist; people who are supportive of the LGBT+ community. Allies enable us to achieve equality by making the LGBT+ community part of the majority.

In collaboration with the Vice-Chancellor and the Network Chair, a video has been prepared to outline the Network’s aims for this year, and explain the meaning behind the new name.
