Faculty of Engineering and the Environment – You Said, We Did

Engineering and the Environment at the University is a world-class centre for education, research and enterprise. The Faculty represents the largest and most diverse engineering, environmental science and audiology grouping in the UK.

Students’ feedback helps to shape university services and, in turn, improves the student experience.

Throughout the year, students have fed back on a number of aspects they would like to see improved within the Faculty. Below you will find some examples of how the Faculty has implemented this feedback:

Civil Engineering

  • You said: You would benefit from more support while you are in the labs.
  • We did: This has been arranged and more assistants will now be available to support students.

Environmental Science

  • You said: You wanted more detailed exam feedback.
  • We did: We now run sessions with students to give comprehensive examination feedback.
  • You said: We would benefit from more tutorials.
  • We did: We have added new timetabled tutorial slots for years 2, and above, and implemented a new MSc tutorial programme.

Aeronautics and Astronautics

  • You said: We would benefit from last year’s module notes being available on Blackboard.
  • We did: The notes are now available on Blackboard.

Ship Science

  • You said: There is an issue with a timetable clash.
  • We did: This has been rectified and lectures are now recorded and uploaded to Blackboard.

Students are welcome to get in touch with any feedback regarding their course and university services. Find out how to give feedback by following the links below:

Students are invited to share their feedback with university leaders at the next Student Forum taking place on Monday 20 February from 15:00 to 17:00 in Building 34, Room 3001. Register your place and find out more by clicking here.
