Malcolm is director of Academic Liaison at GSK and has more than 35 years’ experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry. This seminar aims to facilitate discussion on the role of social science research in addressing healthcare issues.
This seminar will be chaired by Professor Catherine Pope from Health Sciences and aims to facilitate discussion on the role of social science research in addressing healthcare issues, including the following challenges identified by GSK:
1. Electroceuticals – using electrical impulses to target therapies
2. Data mining and big data in real time to inform drug development
3. Getting the public to allow more use of personal health data
4. The adherence problem – getting people to take medicines
