A small number of staff have been victim to a phishing email which compromised their credentials.
The University has taken immediate action to address the situation.
Staff and students are reminded to:
- Read the advice that can be found regarding phishing emails on the University’s Keeping Safe Online page (located within the iSolutions pages).
- Check with ServiceLine if you’re in doubt as to the authenticity of any email.
Some simple rules to follow include:
- If the email sounds too good to be true – then it probably is.
- If an email suggests that loss of service will result if you do not upgrade your software, confirm account details or act immediately in any way, this should be treated as highly suspicious.
Always take a moment to pause and think about potentially suspicious emails.
