Opportunity to provide feedback on public transport information tools

Southampton City Council has asked the University to identify what travellers desire from public transport information sources, so that they can meet their travel planning needs.

This study aims to evaluate an example set of journey planning tools to gauge where the Council is in regards to meeting the traveller’s information needs through journey planning tools. The outcome will be the identification of areas which are working well, and those which need future improvement.

Successful applicants will be asked to attend the review session at Southampton University, Highfield Campus, Building 53, to evaluate three information sources, each evaluation lasting approximately 45 minutes. If you choose to participate in the reviews, you will be paid for your time (£10 per review, 3 reviews in total). Any responses recorded during these sessions will be completely anonymous and analysed in combination with other participant responses.

An example timetable of the sessions would be:

10:00 – Introduction to the study
10:20 – Review of first journey planner
11:10 – Review of second journey planner
11:50 – A break will be offered if needed
12:30 – Review of final journey planner
13:10 – Close and remuneration

If you’re interested in participating, please contact Amanda Haylett at: [email protected] expressing your interest. In your email, please include your age and the dates you would be free to take part on. If successful in your application, you will be sent additional details including the room number for the review.
