The Catalyst Challenge is an annual one-day business competition, open to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Challenge is organised by the University Student Enterprise team, based within the Careers and Employability Service, in collaboration with the University of Southampton Science Park, home to a vibrant and entrepreneurial business community.

On the day itself, you will work as a part of a team to solve a commercial challenge at the Science Park in Chilworth, where transport will be provided. Your team will then pitch your proposed solution to a panel of business experts.

You will gain insights and advice that will advance your personal and professional development, helping you to become a better leader, a better collaborator and develop your creativity and communication skills along the way.

Sarah Rogers, Head of Student Enterprise in the Careers and Employability Service said:

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience. The Catalyst Challenge enables you to realise some of your entrepreneurial potential in a unique environment.

An experience like this will impress prospective employers from all sectors. Do you see yourself launching your own start-up business in the future? Taking part in this challenge will help prepare you and give you the skills required.

Whether you have experience in enterprise or not, all are encouraged to apply. Each member of the winning team will be awarded Amazon vouchers to the value of £25.00 per person (total group prize £100).

The Catalyst Challenge will take place on Wednesday 15 March from 09:00 18:15. The application process is simple, and you must apply through MyCareers by midnight on Wednesday 1 March.
