This week we complete the preparatory works for the University’s eagerly anticipated new teaching and learning centre, ahead of the main build phase starting this spring.
Before leaving the site this week, our contractor for the preparatory works, PTC, is reinstating Salisbury Road, and you may have noticed changes are already taking place.
By the end of this week:
- the current traffic light system will be withdrawn
- the red and white pedestrian barriers along Salisbury Road will be removed
- the fencing along the edge of the building zone will be moved and the footpath reopened
While this measure will open up the area for all users, we would like staff and students to be aware that this will not be a permanent change.
Our contractor for the building works will need to undertake further works on Salisbury Road in due course. We are working with them to ensure that this activity results in minimal disruption for all users, and we will keep staff and students updated.
