Last Friday (3 March) the Union announced the results from the Spring Elections 2017. These elections determine who will take on the Full-Time Sabbatical Officer positions, as well as the Student Leader roles for the next academic year.
After an exciting week of campaigning, from huge banners across campus to customised t-shirts. there was a fantastic increase of 8.2% in the number of votes from last year, with 5,963 students turning out to vote, making up a total of 43,831 individual votes.
The elected Full-Time Sabbatical Officers for 2017-18 are as follows:
- Union President: Flora Noble with 2420 votes
- Vice President Democracy & Creative Industries: Evie Reilly with 2022 votes
- Vice President Welfare: Samantha Higman with 2056 votes
- Vice President Engagement: Dan Varley with 2132 votes
- Vice President Sports: Stephen Gore with 2241 votes
- Vice President Education: Samuel Dedman with 3461 votes
- Vice President Student Communities: Arun Aggarwal with 3408 votes
