UK Research Office EU Horizon 2020 training event

The UK Research Office (UKRO) advisor for the University, Jon Brookes, will be in Southampton on Friday 24 March to give three presentations on European funding.

UKRO is the Research Councils Office in Brussels and supports UK HEIs in accessing European funding.

Details for the individual presentations can be found below:

1. Take your career to the next level with a European Research Council (ERC) Grant

This briefing will provide key information on the ERC schemes and insight from current grant holders at the University, followed by a Q&A session.
Taking place in the Senate Room (4069), Building 37, Highfield Campus from 10:30 – 12:00, click here to book your ticket.

2. The importance of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in Horizon 2020 (H2020).

This session is focused on how to determine which H2020 call topics should be led by SSH researchers, as well as when and how non-SSH academics should involve fellow colleagues from SSH areas in their H2020 proposals. The UKRO briefing will provide general information on ‘mainstreaming’ SSH in H2020 and insights from examples of H2020 funded projects involving academics from SSH disciplines, followed by a Q&A session.
