Faculty of Health Sciences – You Said, We Did

The Faculty of Health Sciences education programmes cover a broad spectrum of health professions. We prepare nurses, physiotherapists, midwives, occupational therapists, health scientists and podiatrists to become confident practitioners, ready to lead transformations in practice and health service delivery.

Students’ feedback helps to shape university services and, in turn, improves the student experience.

Throughout the academic year, students have fed back on a number of aspects they would like to see improved within the Faculty. Below you will find some examples of how the Faculty has implemented this feedback. View more examples on the Student Voice website by clicking here.

  • You said: You would benefit from more support from academic staff when you are in practice
  • We did: We’ve ensured there is a named academic member of staff liaising with every practice area, to provide support and bring you together mid-placement, to share and learn from your experiences.

  • You said: The feedback you get on assessments does not always help you understand what you need to do to improve your work.
  • We did: We have changed how we give you feedback by telling you clearly what you have done well, what you did less well, and what you need to do to improve. We will also ask you to indicate what aspect of your work you would most like to receive feedback on when you submit your assessment submission form.
  • You said: You wanted more support when transitioning from being a student nurse to a registered nurse.
  • We did: We’ve introduced a transitions module for 2016/17 to support you with the transition into professional practice.

Students are welcome to get in touch with any feedback regarding their course and university services. Find out how to give feedback by following the links below:
