The potential for poor quality of nursing care to negatively affect patients and nurses has emerged as an issue in numerous reports on failings in NHS hospitals. Failure to establish an adequate nursing work configuration has frequently been cited as a causal factor.
Three short presentations will describe some of our current research exploring relationships between nurse staffing patterns and outcomes including avoidable deaths, poor patient experience and staff sickness.
A lunch will be available from 12:00 ahead of presentations beginning at 12:30.
