Applications for Spark India 2017, a unique fellowship experience which takes place in Mumbai, are now being accepted.
Students participating in the initiative will work on challenges set by some of India’s most innovative social entrepreneurs to meet diverse social needs.
Through the programme, students take steps towards becoming world-class social impact leaders.
This year, the programme is partnering with 3 organisations: Atma, supporting education focused social ventures; SafeCity, protecting women through crowdsourcing; and Dharavi Diary, empowering girls in Asia’s biggest slum through the power of coding.
The programme takes place in the first three weeks of August 2017. Participants will stay at the beautiful campus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. All programme costs, meals and internal travel will be paid for. In addition, each student will also be given a £500 scholarship to cover flights and visa costs.
Offering a unique combination of collaborative problem-solving and a personal leadership journey, below you’ll find some testimonials from last year’s cohort:
- “Spark India not only introduced me to a new culture and enhanced my career skills, but also developed me further as a person,” Jack Pethick, third year History.
- “I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an inspirational network of Spark India Fellows and it gives me confidence to have this support network with me when I face future challenges!” Beckie Thomas, third year Psychology.
