Upcoming changes when recruiting staff who require a Certificate of Sponsorship

A number of changes are being introduced by the Home Office which may have a financial impact on the recruitment of staff who require a Certificate of Sponsorship. For further information, please read the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) briefing.

In recognition of the importance of attracting and recruiting talented individuals from a global market, the University has decided to reimburse the cost of the initial Tier 2 visa application fees, where an employee’s offer of employment is for over 1 year. This policy came into effect on 1 April 2017 for employees who start on or after this date. The full eligibility criteria and the policy can be found on the HR website.

The relevant University guidance is currently being updated to reflect these changes and will be published in due course.
