Record number of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships awarded

The University has received a record number of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) awards through the first open call of 2017. Innovate UK is providing matched funding for four new projects with industry partners Microlink PC Ltd, Structural Metal Decks Ltd, Dawson Construction Plant Ltd, and Kelda Showers Ltd.

The awards, totalling over £650k of income to the University, provide funding for the recruitment of recent graduates to act as embedded knowledge transfer bridges with our industry partners, enabling University research to be utilised in the solution of specific business problems.

KTPs often result in the development of profitable long-term relationships between companies and the University. To find out more about how KTPs work as well as some of their benefits and advantages, please visit Innovate UK KTP and Research and Innovation Services.

The University has a wealth of experience when it comes to supporting KTPs, having worked with numerous partners from the commercial, public and third sectors to tackle a wide range of engineering, statistical, educational and environmental challenges.
