Later this month the University will be carrying out the first phase of repair works to heating pipework that serves the Hartley Library.
The pipe runs beneath the road surface between Building 5 and the Library, and in order to access it the road will need to be closed to motorists temporarily. This closure will begin on Friday 14 April for just over a week, with the road re-opening in time for the Southampton Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 23 April.
This plan shows the location of the closure. Signage will be in place to assist motorists during the closure.
Please note that access will be maintained for pedestrians, essential delivery vehicles and users of the disabled parking bays outside Building 7 (Lanchester).
A further period of closure will be required later this year to complete the repair works. Notice will be provided in due course.
