Nuffield Southampton Theatres will be hosting a new play inspired by the British Asian drag queen community.
Produced by British Asian Theatre Company Rifco and created in consultation with the LGBTQ community, Miss Meena & the Masala Queens will run from Tuesday 6 – Saturday 10 June.
Written by Harvey Virdi (best known for her acting in Citizen Khan, The Kumars, Lucky Man), the play features sparkling costumes and big Bollywood style lip-sync dance numbers, but at its heart reveals a very human story about the meaning of family.

The play tells the story of Miss Meena, a once famous and fabulous drag queen who has lost his sparkle and, like his nightclub, is now washed up and out of date. The punters have gone and the property developers are circling.
Featuring Raj Ghatak (Everybody’s Talking about Jamie) as Miss Meena, the play is suitable for ages 14+ and tickets are available from £10.00.
