Executive Director of Student Experience, Nicky Passmore, will be leaving the University in mid-June to take up an appointment at the University of Melbourne as Director of Student Success.
Nicky joined the University in October 2011 and has been responsible for delivering significant improvements to the student experience during her time here.
From 19 June, leadership and line management of Nicky’s Directorate (comprising Student Services, Student Academic Administration, and Student Recruitment and International Relations) will be provided on an interim basis by Jane Savidge, currently Director of Library and Arts.
Jane will bring a wide range of experience gained in her current and previous roles. She has had long standing involvement with improving the student experience in other universities, which will support these critical areas of the University’s strategy. Jane will continue to lead Library and Arts in addition to her new role.
Jane Savidge said:
I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with the three Directors and their teams, with Faculties and the Students Union, to develop and build on the work already underway to strengthen the positive experience of our students.
This arrangement will connect Library and Arts with the wider group of Professional Services responsible for the student experience. I hope to gain a broad understanding to shape and challenge our approach, working in partnership with the teams and with students to support the strong contribution made by the Directors and their teams.
Ian Dunn, Chief Operating Officer said:
Although it is a regret to lose Nicky, it is testament to the strength of Professional Services in these four impacted areas that we can address this change so positively. I am delighted that Jane will be at the helm, at least for the remainder of the year, and look forward to the continued progression of strategy delivery across all areas of Student Experience, Library and Arts.
