Places available on Business Innovation Programme

It is a highly competitive environment for today’s graduates, so it is worthwhile for students to gain experience that helps put them ahead of the competition.

The University is looking to help improve the progression of students from black and minority ethnic groups, after recent data was released by the Higher Education Authority.

Together with the University’s Careers & Employability Team, the Student Success Project would like to invite students to come and talk about work experience opportunities available through the existing, and highly successful, Business Innovation Programme. There are also additional workshops that will be held in May to support students applying to the programme.

The Business Innovation Programme is designed to offer students the opportunity to gain invaluable experience by working on a real-life business issue put forward by local businesses or not-for-profit organisations. Details of the programme can be found by clicking here.

The Careers team are running two workshops in May to help guide students and support them in submitting a successful application. Please register on the links below:

Archaeology student Stephen Upton, who benefited from the programme, said:

Because of the programme I have been able to secure a graduate scheme placement with FDM, an IT solutions company, as a business consultant. Without the programme I do not think that I would have even considered applying to work for FDM.

The Careers team have set aside 20 places for students and these will be funded by the Student Success project. This is a great opportunity to get involved and enhance your CV.

Applicants must be active and enrolled undergraduate home EU students, from a black or minority ethnic background.
