Top tips for ensuring a smooth exam period
- Make sure you know where the exam room is in advance. Prevent any last minute panics or late arrivals by familiarising yourself with the examination room plans and the campus map.
- Read through the instructions for exam candidates to ensure you know what to do and what to expect.
- If you require use of a dictionary during an exam, please read this policy.
You should not start or continue your exam if you are feeling unwell
- If you feel ill before your exam, you should notify your student office as soon as possible. They may be able to arrange for you to re-take your exam when you are feeling better, or during the supplementary exam period.
- If you feel ill during your exam, you should attract the attention of an invigilator by raising your hand and explaining that you feel unwell. Find out more by clicking here.
Exam cancellation
- If exams are cancelled due to extraordinary circumstances (e.g. sudden loss of exam venues, extreme weather conditions), your exams may be rescheduled to any other day within term time at short notice.
- Should you plan to leave the campus and such circumstances arise, you could risk being unable to complete your required assessment and potentially be unable to progress in your academic studies. You can access a term time calendar by clicking here.
Study and revision
- The Hartley Library operates 24 hours a day during term time, but there are also plenty of alternative spaces where you can study.
