Documenting the Holocaust with music

It is possibly the last thing you would expect to endure through the horrors of the Holocaust.

Yet music that was salvaged from one of the bleakest of chapters in modern day history has been compiled by a Southampton academic.

Dr Shirli Gilbert, Associate Professor of History, has brought a unique body of music to the public’s awareness which furthers our understanding of that time whilst safeguarding a precious archive.
