Help make a difference: the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey

Each year, universities around the country collect information from their graduates about what they’re doing; whether that is employment, further study, travel or job seeking.

The Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) is a survey which is sent out to graduates six months after the completion of their course. The results are made publicly available as a measure of employability, which impacts our league table performance. The information we gain from the survey also informs the careers support that we offer to students and graduates.

Please help to raise awareness of DLHE with students whilst they are still studying here, by encouraging them to complete the survey when they are contacted six months after graduation. It is important that students keep their contact details up to date on Banner to enable the Careers and Employability Service, who administer the survey, to reach them during the survey period. The survey, which goes live on 8 November, runs to 5 March for the July graduating class. There will be another survey for December graduates in 2018 (dates to be confirmed). Graduates who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win one of four £50 Amazon vouchers.

DLHE survey results are available for all staff to access annually in July via Qlikview, which can be accessed through the Services tab of SUSSED. Survey results are broken down both as an institution and by programme of study. The Careers and Employability Service will also be developing Faculty Specific Employability reports that will be available for review at the end of the academic year. Last year’s reports are available to view through the Employability Exchange.

For further information and support with promoting DLHE locally and using Qlikview, please contact the Careers and Employability Service by emailing: [email protected]
