MEng Mechanical Engineering student, Ryan K Prasad, was a finalist in the TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards 2017.
Ryan is currently in his third year at Southampton, having spent the first two years at our University of Southampton Malaysia Campus (USMC).
The Awards ceremony was held at Canary Wharf, London in April 2017 and was hosted by writer and television presenter, Konnie Huq. The competition attracted almost 3,500 applicants from all across the UK, and Ryan was one of seven finalists in the Innovation category.
The Awards identify and celebrate the UK’s best undergraduates. Each award is sponsored by a graduate recruiter and prizes include work placements and overseas trips.
Speaking about the event, Ryan said:
It was amazing. I was disappointed not to win but it was really inspiring to be in the presence of 116 other shortlisted undergraduates, and I feel very proud of my achievement.
