BioBlitz is back and this year’s events will be taking place on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 June.
Please see below for a summary of the activities on offer and links to book your place:
- Health walk, Friday 9 June from 12:30 – 13:30 departing from Valley Gardens. Open to all students and staff, join the team for a health walk to Southampton Common. Organised by Health and Safety, take this opportunity to step away from your desk or revision and find out more about the natural environment on our doorsteps. Click here to book.
- Bat walk, Friday 9 June from 21:30 departing from Avenue Campus. Open to families, this guided walk will involve looking for bats. Any donations made on the night will go to the Hampshire Bat Group. With limited spaces available, click here to book your place.
- BioBlitz, Saturday 10 June from 10:00 – 16:00 meeting by the foyer of Building 46, Highfield Campus. Join wildlife groups and university scientists in a race against the clock to find and record as many species of animals and plants as possible. Anyone is welcome to participate and registration isn’t necessary. This event is a joint initiative between the University, Students’ Union, Southampton City Council and Southampton Natural History Society.
