Last month, colleagues from across the University met to identify best practice in relation to embedding employability within the curriculum. During the event, a diverse range of speakers provided engaging case studies and insight into their practice.
Doug Cole from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) made the case for repositioning employability and shared the HEA’s framework for enhancing student success in employability.
Access to videos of each speaker, as well as their presentation slides, can be accessed by clicking here.
Delegate feedback has been very positive, with colleagues stating the event was ‘stimulating’, ‘excellent’ and provided ‘examples of innovative practice from across the University’. Throughout attendee feedback, there was a recurring theme that as a University we should ‘build on this and continue sharing’. This being said, the University is considering making this an annual event.
The Careers and Employability Service has launched a new resource for staff called the Employability Exchange, providing access to key information, data and contacts to help staff develop and promote employability activities and initiatives.
If you are a student who would like to provide feedback on employability at the University, you can contact: [email protected]
Additional employability related events are already being planned, so keep your eye on SUSSED for further details.
