The Centre for Population Change (CPC), is running a study into the work carried out by informal carers of older adults; those who carry out caring tasks but are not officially employed as carers.
The CPC project is called Carers and Time Use and its aim is to provide better information for policymakers who make decisions affecting unpaid care for older people.
As part of this study, the researchers would like participants to complete a time use diary for one week, with a possible second week, three months later. The information will help the team to learn more about how carers use their time. The Ethics ID for this study is 26336.
The CPC would also like to carry out face-to-face or phone interviews before and after the diary completion.
If you would like to take part in the research, or if you wish to discuss the study prior to making a decision, please contact: Rosalie Ashworth Tel: + 44(0)17 8646 7728; or Nadine Thomas.
The CPC, based jointly at Southampton and four Scottish universities, works with the Office for National Statistics and National Records of Scotland to improve the understanding of the key drivers and implications of population change.
