Lifelong learning study day: Castle walls and female spaces in literature since medieval times

In partnership with Southampton City Art Gallery, the University’s Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Culture will hold an interdisciplinary study day on Saturday 17 June.

Tying in with the gallery’s Capture the Castle exhibition, the Strong-hold series of events explores the position of castles in the popular imagination and culture.

This study day is the next event in the series and will chart the feminine associations of castle spaces, including talks on Shakespeare and modern drama, as well as a tour of the exhibition led by the curators.

Tickets are £28 and £26 for concessions. They can be booked via the Lifelong Learning website.
